• 1 liter of water
  • 100 gr of nisiaste (maize powdered starch)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Rosewater “Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades”
  • Rose syrup
  • Ice cubes (Optional)


  1. In a pan, place the nisiaste and the water and let it boil over low heat. Mix the mixture continuously until bubbles appear in the pot.
  2. Add the sugar and stir for another 5 minutes until the mixture becomes a thick cream.
  3. Place the mixture in a baking pan which you had dried with water. Leave it to cool, then cover it with water and place it in the refrigerator to freeze.
  4. Serve with rose water and ice cubes! A few drops of rose water “Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades” will complete the refreshing flavour of this dessert!
