Machalepi with Rosewater from “Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades” is perfect for the hot summer days, very easy to make and an extra light dessert!


  • 1 liter of water
  • 100 gr of nisiaste (maize powdered starch)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • rosewater “Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades”
  • rose syrup
  • ice cubes (optional)


  • In a pan, place the nisiaste and the water and let it boil over low heat. Mix the mixture continuously until bubbles appear in the pot.
  • Add the sugar and stir for another 5 minutes until the mixture becomes a thick cream.
  • Place the mixture in a baking pan which you had dried with water. Leave it to cool, then cover it with water and place it in the refrigerator to freeze.
  • Serve with ice cubes! A few drops of Rosewater from “Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades” will complete the refreshing flavour of this dessert!
